An Update

Did you miss it?

The latest Rally for the Rec Town Hall brought together community members to discuss the proposed Lopez Parks & Rec District, addressing both enthusiasm and concerns. Conversations centered on ensuring sustainable funding for recreation programs, reducing administrative costs, and balancing support for the school’s athletic programs, afterschool activities, and broader community recreation. Some attendees voiced concerns about taxes and budget allocation, while others highlighted the urgent need for stable, long-term support beyond private donations. The discussion reinforced that a well-structured Parks & Rec District is a long-term investment in community well-being, education, and recreation, providing financial stability and efficiencies for various programs and will benefit all Lopezians—youth, families, and seniors alike.

We are working as a team to address some of the more specific questions that came up, so stay tuned!
